HOW IT

ALL BEGAN

Before Breanker was the name of a a beautiful beach house, it was on the side of a yacht.

Breanker Landings is right on Westbrook Beach, a hidden gem on the magnificent North Coast of South Africa.

In 1988, Charles Fitz Gerald Pollock (“Gerald” to absolutely everyone) an incurable adventurer, with a life-long obsession with the ocean, began building a yacht he called Breanker. The name is in honour of his children, Brett, Anne and Kerry.

In 1991, Gerald loaded his family aboard the Breanker to sail into the unknown. They spent months at sea before reaching the Caribbean island of Tortola, where Gerald set up and ran a charter business for more than 10 years. He returned to the Caribbean many times as he finally fulfilled his dream to circumnavigate the globe in the Breanker.

Breanker Landings was Gerald’s home for me than 25 years before his health meant he needed to be closer to family.

Breanker Landings stands as a vibrant testament to all that Gerald loved. Now, it’s yours to fall in love with too.
